Our Team

Fowzia Davids is an experienced researcher and risk analyst, project developer, and project manager for private travel and security companies, non-governmental organizations, think tanks, and leading management consulting and renewable energy companies. Her thematic focus includes conflict, development studies, international relations, climate change and the just transition, and healthcare, with a specific emphasis on sub-Saharan Africa.

She holds an MSc in African Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science, as well as a BA Honours in International Relations and a BSc in Economics and International Relations from the University of Cape Town. Fowzia has received several scholarships and grants from organizations such as the Women’s Development Bank, the Oppenheimer Memorial Trust, and AWQAF South Africa. Additionally, she is a fellow of the South Africa Washington International Programme (SAWIP) and the Firoz Lalji Programme for African Leadership (PfAL).

Sumona is a researcher, analyst, strategic consultant and project officer with a multidisciplinary background. She has worked with several donor-funded programs and is driven by evidence-based decision making and inclusive thinking centered around community development.

Sumona is currently pursuing an MSc in Public Health (Global Health) at King’s College London and holds an MPhil in Justice and Transformation (cum laude) at UCT and an Honours degree in International Relations from UCT. She reserves a special focus in the intersecting fields of Development, Sustainability, Corporate Social Responsibility, Healthcare, Gender and Human Rights.

Mr Bekithemba Ntoni is a research consultant for Bloem Consulting Services and holds a Bachelor of Social Science from the University of the Western Cape, and an honours and master’s degree in International Relations from the University of Cape Town. Mr. Ntoni received various scholarships such as the UCT postgraduate and Ada and Bertie Levenstein scholarship and was recognised by the Golden Key Honour Society as a top student in his studies. He was a fellow of the South Africa Washington International Programme (SAWIP) in the United States in Washington DC; a Danida Danish Fellow in Denmark and a fellow for the British Council Developing Inclusive Economies (DICE) in the United Kingdom. He is also a member of the South African Institute of International Affairs (SAIIA) and Amnesty International. He has spoken on various platforms such as the World Science Forum and the Geneva Science Diplomacy Anticipator in Switzerland among others.

He has previously worked for the non-profit “Parliamentary Monitoring Group” in the South African parliament, and the “American Friends Service Committee”, a social justice organisation in Washington DC. He also worked in the energy and finance sector as an associate for the company Energy Capital and Power (ECP). He is currently a Teaching Assistant and Sessional Lecturer at the University of Cape Town and a Youth Advisor for the Danish Embassy in South Africa.

Ineke Stemmet is an experienced office and grant manager and coordinator, internal liaison, researcher, proposal and report writer, event coordinator and manager, and social media producer. She has consulted for Humanidev Tech, a new NGO based on software for conflict analysis, and for the Institute for International Criminal Investigations in The Hague. Her areas of specialization are conflict and gender studies.

​Ineke holds a Bachelor’s degree in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE) as well as an Honours degree in International Relations from the University of Stellenbosch. She is also a Master’s graduate from Leiden University in International Relations, specializing in Global Conflict in the Modern Era.
